Every contribution helps make a difference
Kids in Care ACT is a volunteer-run charity that relies on community generosity from donations, fundraising activities and sponsor support. Your assistance helps bring comfort, dignity, and a sense of normalcy to children in crisis or out-of-home care.
Every contribution helps provide Go Bags, books, toys and essentials for children in crisis.
We’re entirely volunteer-run, with only a small portion of funds covering necessary costs such as insurance, website hosting and compliance — keeping our programs safe and sustainable.
1. Make a financial contribution
Every dollar makes a difference and all funds, no matter how small, are gratefully received.
If you have capacity to consider recurring donations, regular donation agreements or written pledges help us plan ahead and offer increased services and support to vulnerable children, giving them a sense of normalcy during difficult times.
Donations over $2 are tax-deductible.
2. Gift raffle prizes, toys or items
Prefer to give in other ways? We also welcome:
Raffle prizes for Easter or Christmas ($100 minimum)
New Christmas presents (drop off at a Giving Tree in December, or contact us directly)
Supplies for our Go Bags, which provide essentials for children in crisis
3. Leave a bequest or legacy
Leaving a gift or bequest in your will is a meaningful way to create a lasting legacy of care and kindness for children in need. This is a personal decision and you should speak with a solicitor or estate planner if you would like to consider this option.
You can add a clause to a new will or include a codicil to an existing will using wording similar to the below:
I, [insert full name], give to Kids in Care ACT Inc. (ABN 41 927 421 659) for its general purposes, [choose one of the following]:
The whole of my estate, or
[insert number]% of my estate, or
The residue of my estate, or
The sum of $[insert amount],
free of all duties and taxes payable upon or as a consequence of my death. The receipt of the Chairman/Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary, or other authorised officer of Kids in Care ACT Inc. shall be a complete and sufficient discharge for the Executor(s).
4. Donate your time or become a member
You can also make a difference by volunteering at fundraisers or becoming a financial member.
