Make a Difference

Get Involved

Make a difference in your community with us!

There are many ways you can get involved with Kids in Care ACT — from volunteering at community events, to joining as a financial member, to helping your workplace support our initiatives. Every contribution of time or skill means we can support more children in crisis or out-of-home care with something to call their own, essential supplies, and moments of stability when life feels uncertain.

Volunteer opportunities

There are many ways to get involved throughout the year, including:

  • Fundraising BBQs – cook, serve, or collect payments

  • Gift-wrapping stations during November and December

  • Assisting at community events or stalls

  • Connecting with local businesses willing to offer donations, raffle prizes, host Giving Trees or provide other support

  • Sharing awareness of our charity and activities

  • Packing Go Bags

Information about upcoming volunteer opportunities is usually shared through our newsletter, emails to members, or via partner agencies that support us — such as Rotary Clubs, ACT Children, Youth and Families, and others.

Host a Giving Tree

Businesses and workplaces can support Kids in Care ACT by hosting a Giving Tree each Christmas. It’s an easy and rewarding way to collect new toys and gifts for children supported by our program — spreading kindness across the community. Gifts should be non-perishable, unwrapped, and in as-new condition.

Please contact us if you would like to host a Giving Tree. We can provide signage, and arrange for collection of gifts from your location.
