Every child deserves something to call their own.

Kids in Care ACT is a volunteer-run charity supporting vulnerable local children with new toys, Go Bags filled with essentials, clothing, gift vouchers, and other comfort items. Our support reaches children in crisis, those involved with care and protection services, and those staying in refuges or temporary accommodation.

We work closely with ACT Children, Youth and Families, the NSW Department of Communities and Justice, ACT Policing, domestic violence and women’s refuges, Indigenous support services, and legal and mental health organisations to make sure help reaches those who need it most. When we receive more items than are immediately needed, we share them with other trusted local community groups to ensure every donation finds a good home.

We don’t receive government funding and rely entirely on the generosity of our community. Each year, we raise funds through community sausage sizzles, Christmas gift-wrapping stations at Big W stores, Easter and Christmas raffles, and the Toyworld Community Fun Day. Local businesses and Big W stores also host Christmas Giving Trees to collect gifts for children in need.

Every donation, sponsorship, or hour volunteered helps us reach another child in need.
